Long Haul For Legend Of The Seas
A side-effect of the debate on a suitable memorial for Sir Edmund Hillary was a reminder that nothing had been done to commemorate the life of one of this country’s other great adventurers, Sir Peter Blake. Children born at the time of his murder on the Amazon in 2001 were well into primary school yet still there was only planning and proposal. It had become a disgrace. Thankfully, that situation has now been resolved with the announcement of approval for an $8.9 million tribute to be housed in the National Maritime Museum, at the northern end of Auckland’s Hobson Wharf.

Trofeo Pirelli: IRC - IMS - Maxi - Wally Mini Maxi - One Design

The Spanish teams stole the spotlight on the opening day of the GP42 Quebramar Cup 2008 in Santa Margherita Ligure, on the Italian coast. ‘Can I Come Down Now?’
Sometimes technical t-shirts can kick up a bit of a fuss, even after washing, and it’s not something that goes down too well with your crew mates. You might even find yourself in a bosun’s chair for extended periods, doing ‘important’ jobs at the masthead. Dubarry’s new Genoa T-shirt has fast-drying anti-microbial fabric that works better than the rest - keeping you dry, fresh and friendly, sparing your blushes. And because it’s SPF40, your shoulders won’t be red either. Flat, cover-stitched seams mean it’s pretty much the perfect inner layer.
