Superb Conditions and Spectacular Races

Palma de Majorca, Spain: It was a glorious day on the Palma day and the 113-strong fleet enjoyed excellent conditions. Despite a short-lived postponement ashore earlier in the morning, the breeze came in right as expected at 10 knots and reached up to 18 late in the afternoon. The 30-degree shift that took place in the first race made tacticians work harder.

Platoon is leading the TP52 class, with a 1st and 3rd in the day’s two races. In the GP42 class the score table is as tight as possible after three races, with Near Miss on top.

Baltic Sprint Cup Arrives in Gdynia, Poland
Just over 9 hours after setting off from Klaipeda, the first of the Baltic Sprint Cup yachts were arriving in Gdynia, Poland. Around 10:00PM, local time in Poland, Race Director Alan Green and the local Race Officials headed for the Finish Line in Gdynia, Poland as the yachts neared the finish.

Coming in at 111 nautical miles, the Klaipeda-Gdynia leg is a relatively short one compared to the first 2 legs of the race (Travemunde, Germany to Karlskrona, Sweden, then Karlskrona to Klaipeda, Lithuania), which each averaged approximately 200 nautical miles.
